Looking for a dining experience that combines authentic, homemade Mexican food with a fun and vibrant atmosphere? Corazón de Mexico in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, has become a viral sensation—and for good reason. Only a 15-minute drive from Chattanooga, this restaurant offers not just incredible meals but an experience worth talking about.

The first thing you’ll notice when you step inside is the beautiful decor, including a well-stocked bar and an eye-catching shelf filled with unique art and treasures brought directly from Mexico. These details set the tone for an authentic and welcoming dining experience.

When it comes to the food, come HUNGRY(!!!) There are many different amazing things you will want to try here. Start with their complimentary homemade chips and salsa—they’re perfectly crunchy and delicious. If you’re a queso lover, you have to try either the chorizo dip or the queso fundido; both are game-changers! For your main course, you can’t go wrong with the fan-favorite Birria Tacos. Each bite is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I also like their Exclusive Mix Tacos, Birria Ramen, and the Alpastor Exclusive tacos.

While you wait for your food, enjoy a game of lotería, a Mexican game similar to bingo, already at your table. Pair your meal with one of their handcrafted drinks, like the Strawberry Horchata Mojito or the vodka punch served in a whimsical fish-shaped glass (it’s discounted on Fridays!). With one of the largest tequila collections in the Chattanooga area, the cocktails here are as beautiful as they are delicious!

Corazón de Mexico has even been voted the "Best of the Best" in Georgia, a well-deserved accolade for a spot that puts so much heart into every detail. Pro tip: Check out their Instagram (@corazoncuisine) for updates on specials (and actually funny reels!).

📍 Location: 2681 Battlefield Parkway, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742

Cesario’s Pizzeria in Rossville: A family-owned pizza spot with unique slices!

Just a quick 10-minute drive from downtown Chattanooga, Cesario's Pizzeria in Rossville, GA is serving up some seriously good, family-inspired pizza with a unique twist. The owners brought their Italian heritage to life with recipes passed down from their grandparents—and it shows. We tried out a killer lunch special (just $8 for a half Italian sandwich and tortellini salad), plus the half-and-half pizza combo of Forbidden Fruit and La Dolce Vita, which might be our new go-to. Add in a solid happy hour lineup and nostalgic scoops of ice cream, and it’s easy to see why this spot is worth the short drive. Cesario’s Pizzeria: A Family-Rooted Pizza Spot Just Minutes From Downtown Chattanooga

If you're willing to venture just 10 minutes south of downtown Chattanooga, you'll find Cesario’s Pizzeria- a welcoming neighborhood pizza joint with a strong family story and handcrafted menu that makes the drive across the Georgia border totally worth it. This spot blends traditional Italian family recipes with a modern twist, resulting in a menu that feels both comforting and new. Whether you're going for a laid-back lunch on the patio or a casual weeknight dinner, Cesario’s delivers in flavor, value, and charm.

The Experience

Cesario’s Pizzeria is located in Rossville, Georgia — just across the state line in Walker County. It’s a cozy, friendly space with indoor seating and a patio perfect for mild evenings. From the jump, you can tell this is a family-run business that puts care into everything they do. The décor is simple and inviting, keeping the focus on the food and the community feel.

The menu reflects generations of Italian-American cooking. The owners’ grandparents immigrated from Italy, and it shows — especially in dishes like the meatballs, which come from their great-grandmother’s original recipe. They're tender, flavorful, and simmered in a tomato sauce that tastes like it’s been perfected over time.

Pizza is the heart of the kitchen here, and Cesario’s has carved out their own unique style. One standout feature is their use of a "poolish" pre-ferment for the dough — a traditional technique that adds depth of flavor and a light, crisp texture to the crust. It makes their pies something special.

A fan favorite is the ability to do a half-and-half red sauce pizza — perfect for trying more of the menu in one go. The Forbidden Fruit (prosciutto, fig jam, gorgonzola) and La Dolce Vita (Italian sausage, sweet peppers, caramelized onion, and ricotta) combination is a strong recommendation from locals and first-timers alike.

If you’re stopping by for lunch, try their weekday special: a half Italian sandwich and tortellini salad for just $8. It’s a filling, tasty option if you're short on time but still want a solid meal.

They also have a small bar area with wine and rotating happy hour deals, plus classic soft-serve ice cream to round out the meal.

GOAT YOGA near Chattanooga and it was equal parts relaxing and ridiculously fun!

If you haven’t tried goat yoga yet, let me be the one to put it on your radar. We recently spent a sunny afternoon at Hixson Farms with Wild Roots Collective for a session that was equal parts relaxing, silly, and surprisingly great for bonding. Meg, the instructor, leads a well-paced class that welcomes all experience levels—meanwhile, baby goats wander in and out, climbing, cuddling, and stealing the show. Afterward, we stuck around to pet and feed the animals, which made the whole outing even more memorable. Whether you're planning a birthday, girls’ weekend, or just looking for something different around Chattanooga, this is one experience that’s absolutely worth booking.

Goat yoga with Wild Roots Collective isn’t just a yoga class—it’s an experience. It’s held at Hixson Farms, a peaceful location in north Georgia that offers private farm tours and family-friendly animal encounters. She does a great job creating a calming flow while also embracing the lightness that having goats around naturally brings. So whether you're experienced or brand new to yoga, you'll feel welcomed and comfortable.

Beyond the yoga, Hixson Farms gives you time afterward to meet their other animals. On our visit, we got to feed and pet cows and goats—not something you do every day. The whole day felt relaxed and low-key, but also had that “this is something I’ll talk about for a while” feeling.

Your guide to Chattanooga bars: Westbound Honky Tonk

If you’re looking for a high-energy night out in Chattanooga- with a little line dancing, a lot of music, and a place to celebrate- Westbound Honky Tonk on Station Street is where the party’s at. Whether you're planning a bachelorette bash, a milestone birthday, or just a night out with friends, Westbound delivers a unique mix of nightclub vibe and Southern flair. It’s lively, it’s fun, and it’s far more than just country music.

The Experience

From the outside, Westbound blends in with the other venues on bustling Station Street (see more on Station Street below!) But step inside on a weekend night and you’ll find a fun party atmosphere. The space is open and energetic, with alarge dance floor, pulsing lights, and DJs who bring a fresh vibe each night. Depending on who’s spinning, you might catch everything from country classics and hip-hop throwbacks to pop hits and EDM favorites.

The decor currently features many great country artists painted or hung up in portraits on the walls, giving nods to its honky tonk name while still feeling like an upscale nightlife venue. There are line dancing nights, live performers, and guest DJs that rotate regularly—so no two visits feel exactly the same.

One of the standout features? Westbound’s VIP section. If you're with a group, especially for a special occasion, booking this space is well worth it. You’ll get your own personal servers, complimentary bottle service, exclusive DJ access for song requests, and a private, decorated area to hang in—plus the ability to dip in and out of the crowd as you please.

What to Know Before You Go

Location: 24 Station St #106, Chattanooga, TN 37408
Hours: Typically open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights (Thursdays are line dancing days!). Times vary, so always check their Instagram @westboundhonkytonk for current hours and DJ/event schedules.

Age Restrictions: Public events are strictly 21+. However, the space is available for private rentals, and any age group can attend those events.

Cover Charge: Pricing varies by night and DJ. Some nights have free entry before a certain time; others may have a small cover at the door. Get there early to avoid a wait!

Parking: Trust ME—don’t forget to pay for parking on Station Street. Enforcement is strict, and tickets are no joke. You can also park a few blocks over on Main Street and walk.

Music: Not just country! While the name might suggest cowboy boots and twangy tunes, the actual music range is diverse. DJs bring their own styles, playing everything from EDM to 2000s hip-hop, pop anthems, and yes, the occasional country hit.

Extra Tips or Bonuses

Planning a party? Westbound is especially popular for bachelorette weekends, birthdays, and group outings. Reach out to them in advance via Instagram or their website to inquire about reserving the VIP section or even renting the venue outright for a private event.

Station Street: Looking for food beforehand? Station Street is packed with nearby restaurants. Stir is an easy pregame option for cocktails and small bites, or walk over to Main Street for some of my favorite tacos- Bollywood Tacos! (PS- Station Street in general is a great spot for "bar hopping" in Chatt- there's a good number around the area (Reagan's, Boneyard, 50/50 Wine Bar, Elsie's Daughter, etc., and you can hop on a free "Ride-Go-Cart" or uber/walk to other nearby bars like Shady's Corner, Hi-Fi Clydes and more!)

Photo ops include the signs inside the bar, themed party decorations in VIP, and Station Street's string lights backdrop outside the venue.

Final Thoughts

Westbound Honky Tonk has carved out a niche in Chattanooga’s nightlife scene by offering something a little different—accessible and welcoming for newcomers, but thoughtful enough for locals who are looking for a reliable go-to for weekend fun. If you’re between 21 and 40 and like to dance, celebrate, or simply enjoy a night out with friends, this spot delivers. And if you’ve been writing it off as “just a country bar,” it might be time to give it a second look.
