The Experience

Nestled under the roof of the First Horizon Pavilion, the Chattanooga Market burst to life every Sunday starting in April continuing through December, offering a dazzling showcase of local talent and craftsmanship. Picture this: rows of vibrant flowers, the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked bread, and the soft strumming of a local musician filling the air with life. This beloved weekly tradition marries commerce and community, offering an experience that is both sensory and social.

Whether you're a seasoned Sunday shopper or a curious newcomer, the market offers something for everyone. Have a wander through hundreds of vendor stalls, where you'll find everything from homemade jams and sauces to artisanal soaps and handcrafted jewelry. Hungry? Shayna's Favorites:

I (Shayna) have made it a Sunday tradition to stop by the market after church. It's such a great way to support Chattanooga small businesses and grab great products! My favorite booth is the 2 older ladies who set up right in the middle of the market and sell unique earrings on playing cards. I have gotten dozens of unique earrings from their booths over the years (drum earrings, star earrings, coca-cola earrings, candy earrings, boba earrings- you name it!) I also almost always grab a frozen lemonade (there's typically a booth at both the front entrance and back by the stage!)

Whether you're a local or a visitor, the Chattanooga Market is perfect for families looking for a leisurely outing, couples seeking a unique date spot, or tourists wanting to capture the essence of our city, this market welcomes everyone with open arms and endless charm!

Plantbar: A TASTE-Test Review!

Nestled inside Asheville Dispensary, just a quick hop from downtown, Plantbar isn’t your typical coffee or juice shop—it’s a calm, plant-filled space that also offers specialty, zero-proof cocktails, good hangs, and a great spot to WFH from! They have bagels, live music, and all different types of coffee and tea, including boba- and you can request an add in- though i got my drinks without so I can’t speak to the nano cannibis infusion, however I know the staff is very knowledgeable about it all!

Whether you're seeking a specialty coffee, a zero-proof cocktail, or a matcha latte with adaptogens, this spot brings intention and creativity to every cup. And with a 4.9-star average on Google, it’s clear Plantbar has already earned a loyal following.

The Experience

Think light-filled interiors, houseplants as décor, and a relaxed energy that makes it easy to post up with your laptop or catch up with a friend. The bar is located inside AVL Dispensary—an Asheville-originated wellness shop that offers CBD, herbal blends, and holistic products—so you’re surrounded by a vibe that’s very much focused on slowing down and taking care of yourself.

The drink menu is where things get really interesting. You’ll find everything from espresso classics to creatively named zero-proof cocktails made with non-alcoholic spirits. There are teas, herbal infusions, and seasonal specials that rotate throughout the year. Each drink is crafted with high-quality ingredients, and many come with optional add-ons like CBD, functional mushrooms, or adaptogenic herbs.

It’s the kind of place where you can get your daily matcha, experiment with a house-made botanical soda, or try something new—like their non-alcoholic take on an espresso martini

What to Know Before You Go

Location:
Plantbar is located inside AVL Dispensary at 202 Manufacturers Rd Suite B, Chattanooga

Parking:
There’s a paid lot right next to the building, or you can usually find free parking across the street in the shared lot.

Price Range:
Drinks are reasonably priced for quality ingredients—expect coffeehouse-style pricing, with wellness upgrades costing a little extra.

Atmosphere:
Quiet, serene, great for solo visits, casual dates, or low-key meetings. It’s not a grab-and-go spot; it’s one you’ll want to linger in for a bit.

Extra Tips or Bonuses

- The minimalist design and leafy greenery make it a great place for photos, especially if you’re into aesthetically pleasing latte shots.

-The green drink i’m drinking in the video is a MERTAIL! aka a mocktail but a little different. it’s like a healthier electrolyte drink - imitating the complexity and presentation of craft cocktails but with hydrating ingredients.

- This is not the best place for someone sensitive to the smells of a dispensary. The 2 are combined in one space!
Final Thoughts

Plantbar is one of those special places that feels a little tucked away, but once you find it, you’ll want to keep coming back. It’s perfect for locals looking for an inspiring new hangout or for visitors wanting a calm break in their itinerary. Whether you're deep into the wellness journey or just curious about a zero-proof take on your favorite drink, it's definitely a spot worth discovering.

My Go-To Walking/Running Spot: The Tennessee Riverwalk!

If you're looking for a simple way to reset your brain, get your steps in, or enjoy the fresh air without leaving town, the Tennessee Riverwalk is one of the best places in Chattanooga to do it. Whether you're logging miles on a morning run, going for a weekend stroll with your dog, or just needing a break from screen time, this 13-mile greenway offers some of the prettiest and most peaceful river views in the city. It’s one of those spots locals return to again and again — not just for the beauty, but for how easy and accessible it is. Especially right now with the Walnut Street Bridge closed, the Riverwalk is a great place to walk for Chattanooga views!

The Experience

The Tennessee Riverwalk is a paved, multi-use trail that stretches roughly 13 miles along the Tennessee River, connecting downtown Chattanooga to the Chickamauga Dam. As you move along the path, you’ll pass through a mix of parks, boardwalks over the water, marshy wildlife viewing areas, quiet neighborhoods, and bustling parts of town like the Bluff View Art District and the Riverfront.

You’ll see joggers and cyclists, people walking their dogs, families riding bikes together, and folks just quietly enjoying a walk by the water. The trail is very well maintained, with restrooms, water fountains, and signage throughout — each half mile is marked so you can keep track of your distance.

One of our favorite stretches is the section near 2101 Amnicola Hwy. This part of the trail includes wide, open views of the river, plenty of shade from the trees, and close proximity to spots like the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and the Tennessee Riverpark, which has picnic areas and parking. It’s a good entry point if you're driving in, and usually less crowded than the downtown sections.

What to Know Before You Go

Trail Length: About 13 miles one way
Accessible From: Chickamauga Dam (north end) to Ross’s Landing downtown (south end)
Trail Type: Paved, flat, mostly shaded in parts
Parking: Dozens of access points with parking lots. Popular spots include:
- 2101 Amnicola Hwy (my go-to spot! Though it is a little hard to turn left out of if you're going during peak traffic hours)
- TN Riverpark (4301 Amnicola Hwy)
- Ross’s Landing (201 Riverfront Pkwy)
- Battery Place near Bluff View Art District
Pet Friendly: Yes — there are dog waste stations and trash cans throughout
Restrooms: Available at various trailheads and park areas
Accessibility: The trail is accessible for wheelchairs, bikes, and strollers
Hours: Open daily from dawn to dusk
Admission: Free

Extra Tips or Bonuses

- If you want to pair your walk with a bite to eat, stop at the nearby Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar (just off Amnicola Highway) for riverfront dining. Or, head downtown for coffee from Rembrandt’s and stroll the art-lined part of the trail near the Bluff View Art District.
- Into biking? You can rent bikes or e-bikes downtown via Bike Chattanooga stations and hop right onto the trail.
- This is a great place for a beginner-friendly run or training walk — the wide, flat path makes it a favorite for local running groups.
- Looking for a pretty spot for photos? The boardwalks over the water (especially near the Walnut Street Bridge and at Blue Goose Hollow) are especially scenic.
- During spring and early fall, this trail is perfect for a sun-soaked walk without overcrowding.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re local or just visiting for the weekend, the Tennessee Riverwalk is one of those places that makes you appreciate how much green space Chattanooga offers without needing to drive out of town. It’s peaceful, well-kept, and flexible for however you want to enjoy it — a long solo run, a quiet morning walk, a bike ride with friends, or a sunset view with your dog.

If you’re from out of town, it’s an easy way to explore some of Chattanooga’s most scenic neighborhoods and riverfront areas. And if you’re local, you probably already know it’s a go-to spot for decompressing at the end of the day.
